After 2.5 Years, Here’s What I’d Do Differently as a YouTuber
I started the Healthy Writer mid-August of 2021. I had thought about starting a YouTube channel for over a decade before that. Why didn’t I? I was scared. I did mess around sometimes and post videos (only one of which is still visible on my channel today called “Testing out my claustrophobia in the mead tank” — a truly horrifying experience), but I wasn’t consistent. I had excuses:
I was getting my undergraduate degree
I didn’t have time
I didn’t have energy
And those things may have been true, but they still delayed something I was interested in. That said, I probably started my YouTube channel at the right time when I had the maturity and relative level-headedness to take on such a responsibility and the relative life-calmness to do so more effectively and consistently.
Whenever you begin something new, you’re going to make mistakes and (thankfully) learn along the way. Whether you’re a current YouTuber or an aspiring YouTuber, I hope these lessons can help you ! Here’s some advice I recommend after 2.5 years on YouTube:
