So, you want to prove you’re a bibliophile by reading more books? You are in the right place. Reading more takes some effort but like any habit, once you get some consistency, you’ll do the habit without much thought.

How do you read more books in a year?

  1. Get Specific with Your Goals

If you want to end the year having read a certain amount of books, quantify. How many books do you want to read by the end of the year? If you want to read 50 books by the end of the year, then that means you have to read about a book a week. That means choosing books you can finish within a week to stay on track.

2. Read Short Books

One trick to reading more books per year is to choose slim books. Find books that you can read in one sitting like novellas or poetry books.

3. Read Before Bed

Many people have time off in the evening before bed. This time can go toward watching movies, or streaming TV shows, or playing video games, or browsing the Internet, or… it could go toward reading some good ‘ol fashioned books made with paper and ink (bluelight-free). Reading books before bed may also positively impact your slumber. Many birds with one stone (err book).
