I Challenged Myself to Read 30 Books in One Weekend. Here’s How It Went
You ever feel like there isn’t enough time to read all the books you want to read? Me too, so I decided to take advantage of my cleared weekend schedule to give myself a book challenge: How many books can I read in one weekend?
The weekend time-frame will begin from 5PM Friday to Sunday-Monday midnight, meaning if I didn’t sleep that would be 55 hours of available reading time. However, I intend to sleep, eat, and exercise. Give about 16ish hours for slumber, a couple hours Sat/Sun for in-between things like cooking and tidying up after, teeth-brushing, etc, and that’ll give me about 35ish solid hours to read. I forgot I do have a time commitment online Sunday for an hour with two creative pals in NYC, so that’ll cut my reading time to about 34 hours. I’ll also be filming the YouTube video for this at the same time, so that’ll cut in somewhat.
Now because the challenge is geared toward quantity, I decided to look to the thinner books on my bookshelves. In the meantime, the thinnest books on my bookshelves are generally poetry books, so the majority of the to-read books are poetry, but I did find some slim philosophy books and novellas to be read. All of the books I read this weekend can’t be books I am already reading, so basically I must start from page one. I’m going to aim to read thirty books…
